I’m a photographer and videographer based in Whaingaroa - Raglan, on the west coast of Aotearoa - New Zealand’s North Island in the Waikato region. Born and raised in Aotearoa, I whakapapa to Peru, Scotland and Ireland. With a background in photojournalism and documentary photography, the photos I create have a natural aesthetic and authentic feel.

I specialise in outdoor adventure and love working in natural environments. Whether swimming in big surf, hiking through dense forest, being in the mountains or on blue water sea voyages, I have the ability to work in any location. I’ve shot from planes and helicopters, fly drones, love working in challenging situations and have experience in expedition planning and logistics.

With a focus on people and environment, my work speaks to the diversity and cultures of the people of Aotearoa. I aim to inspire others to feel proud of our place in the world and motivate them to help look after it.

I have the ability to connect with a wide range of people and their stories. To help share their ideas with the world. It is through the art of storytelling that we find our identity and help communicate our goals and values.

If you share these goals and values as well, then please get in touch to talk about how we can tell your story.

Ngaa mihi,
Dominico Zapata.
